Research on the Characteristics and Spatial Effects of Transportation Infrastructure on Common Prosperity——Based on Inter-provincial Panel Data and Spatial Durbin Model
Common prosperity depends on development, with transport firstly plays a leading role.On the basis of quantifying the level of common prosperity, this study uses national inter provincial panel data from 2001 to 2021 to establish a dynamic system GMM and spatial Durbin model, and empirically an-alyzes the characteristics of transportation infrastructure promoting common prosperity from spatial correla-tion,regional heterogeneity, and differences under different types. The results showed that:(1)during the statistical years, the level of common prosperity in the provinces generally showed an upward trend, and the research has feasibility;(2)The impact of transportation infrastructure on the level of common prosperity is generally positive, which is conducive to the promotion of common prosperity.However,in-dustrial structure, marketization level, informatization level, and technological level all have a positive impact on the promotion of common prosperity;(3)Transportation infrastructure has a significant spatial effect on common prosperity, while the spillover effects on the density of highways and railways,as well as the efficiency of passenger and freight transportation, vary in direction;(4)The level of common pros-perity in the eastern, central, and western regions is heterogeneous, and different types of transportation infrastructure also have differences.Based on these, this study proposed policy recommendations to help promote common prosperity by establishing interconnected networks, improving scale and types, and strengthening investment and innovation.
