Digital Transformation and Innovation Quality Improvement of Enterprises:Based on the Perspective of Innovation Technology Characteristics
Enterprise digital transformation has an important influence on innovation,but its effect and mechanism on innovation quality remain to be further tested.Forward patent citation reflects the tech-nical characteristics of enterprises'innovation quality,and provides a new perspective to open the black box of the impact of enterprises'digital transformation on innovation quality.Based on the data of A-share listed enterprises from 2009 to 2019,this paper adopts the two-way fixed effect model and a series of ro-bustness tests.The results show that enterprise digital transformation can improve the quality of enterprise innovation.Among them,the technical characteristics of innovation quality are manifested as rising tech-nological continuity.The digital transformation of enterprises enhances the quality of innovation and its technological continuity through the channels of upgrading enterprises'human capital,increasing invest-ment in R&D,improving technological efficiency and adopting a specialised division of labour.In the meanwhile,the higher the attention of external investors,the higher the level of marketisation and the higher the concentration of the industry,the more pronounced the effect of digital transformation on the quality of innovation of an enterprise.The research conclusion provides a new perspective for enterprises'digital transformation to improve the quality of innovation,and provides an important reference for the dig-ital economy to promote high-quality development.
