Regional Differences and Convergence Analysis of Coupling Coordinated Development of Digital Economy and New Urbanization in China
Promoting the coupling coordinated development of the digital economy and new urbaniza-tion is an important part of China's high-quality economic and social development under the new develop-ment paradigm. This research uses the entropy weight TOPSIS method, coupling coordination degree mod-el,and Dagum Gini coefficient to measure the level of coupling coordination and regional differences be-tween China's digital economy and new urbanization, and utilizing the convergence model to further exam-ined the convergence characteristics of the coupling coordination level. The study finds that:(1)The coupling coordination level of the digital economy and new urbanization in the whole country and the east-ern,central and western regions shows an upward trend year by year, with the eastern region taking the lead in achieving coordinated development, while the central and western regions are still in a state of dys-functional development.(2)The regional differences in the level of coupling coordination between digital economy and new urbanization show a fluctuating downward trend, and the inter-regional differences are the main source of the overall differences.(3)There are significant σ convergence, absolute β conver-gence and conditional β convergence characteristics in the whole country and in the eastern, central and western regions, and there is significant regional heterogeneity in the influence of technological innovation, labour quality, industrial structure, opening up and government capacity on the convergence of the level of coupling coordination.
