How to Enable High-quality Development of Service Industry Through Digital Economy
As economic development enters a new stage,it is important to leverage the digital econo-my to promote the high-quality development of the service industry in socialist modernization.This paper examines the impact of the development of the digital economy on the high-quality development of the serv-ice industry from the three dimensions of modernization,integration and benefit.It is found that the devel-opment of the digital economy has promoted the high-quality development of the service industry,which has the strongest effect on modernization,followed by integration and benefit.In addition,the impact of the digital economy on the service industry will be strengthened in areas with large Internet users and good conditions for inclusive financial development,as well as in the eastern region.The development of the digital economy makes it easier to promote the modernization and integration of the service industry by over-coming Baumol's cost disease in the service industry,stimulating innovation vitality,and reducing the cost of information search.However,it cannot effectively promote the benefit of the service industry by overco-ming Baumol's cost disease and stimulating innovation vitality.While promoting the development of local productive service industries,the development of the digital economy can inhibit the development of pro-ductive service industries in surrounding areas due to the siphon effect.However,it can have a positive spatial spillover effect on the development of public service industries,which in turn promotes the develop-ment of public service industries in surrounding areas.Therefore,there is a need to be problem-oriented,deal with the siphon effect,and promote the high-quality development of the service industry empowered by digital technology.
