The Impact of Digital Global Value Chain Embeddings on Urban Carbon Emission Performance
Based on the panel data of 297 cities in China from 2012 to 2021,this paper selects the panel fixed effect model and threshold model to study the impact and mechanism of digital global value chain embedding on urban carbon emission performance. The results show that digital global value chain embedding can significantly improve the carbon emission performance of cities, and this conclusion is still valid after a series of endogenous and robust tests. The results of the mechanism study show that digital global value chain embedding can improve urban carbon emission performance through green technology in-novation and green management innovation.Heterogeneity test results show that compared with eastern and western cities,resource-based cities, low economic level cities, low digital global value chain embedding level cities and large cities, digital global value chain embeddings have stronger positive promoting effect on carbon emission performance in the central region,non-resource-based cities, high economic level cities, high digital global value chain embedding level cities and small and medium-sized cities The threshold effect results show that with the improvement of green management innovation level, the positive effect of digital global value chain embedding on urban carbon emission performance is gradually enhanced.Based on these, the research puts forward policy suggestions on scientific layout of digital global value chain embedding strategy, formulation of urban carbon emission reduction policy according to local condi-tions,and efforts to improve the level of urban green innovation,in order to provide effective benefits for promoting the improvement of carbon emission performance.
