Regional Differences and Convergence of Income Distribution in China:Based on High-quality Development Perspective
This paper constructs an evaluation index system and utilizes the entropy method to meas-ure the income distribution level of 31 provinces(autonomous regions and municipalities)in China from 2011 to 2020.Among them, the Dagum Gini coefficient method is used to measure regional differences and sources of income distribution level, and the coefficient of variation and spatial convergence model are used to test the σ convergence and β convergence. The findings are as follows:(1)There is a large gap in the level of income distribution among provinces in China, and the overall difference shows a fluctuating upward trend.(2)In terms of intra-regional differences, the western region is the largest, followed by the eastern region, and the central region is the smallest, and the intra-regional differences of the three regions show an expanding trend; The differences between eastern and western regions are the largest,fol-lowed by those between the eastern and central, and finally those between the central and western regions. These regional differences showed an expanding trend.Although the contribution degree of inter-regional differences shows a weakening trend,it is still the main source of the overall differences in the level of na-tional income distribution.(3)There is no obvious σ convergence in the income distribution of the three regions, but there is obvious absolute β convergence and conditional β convergence.
