The Effects of Digital Infrastructure on the Transformation of Employment Structure
As the key to the construction of Dgital China,digital infrastructure is an important engine to promote Chinese path to modernization in the digital era and a power support to build a new competitive advantages of the country.In this context,this paper takes the Broadband China strategy as an exogenous impact of promoting digital infrastructure,and discusses the mechanism and effect of digital infrastructure driving the transformation of employment structure.The research results show that digital infrastructure can help promote the employment of highly skilled labor,and then promote the transformation of employment structure.Compared with the not-selected cities,the driving effect of Broadband China strategy is more obvious for the selected cities.Mechanism analysis indicates that digital infrastructure may promote the transformation of employment structure through facilitating internet development,digital financial inclusion and entrepreneurial growth channels.Heterogeneity analysis shows that the positive effect of digital infra-structure on the transformation of employment structure is more obvious in western regions,cities with high administrative levels and earthquake zones.Compared with officials with high education,officials with middle and low education played a more obvious role in this driving effect.This paper improves the rele-vant research on digital infrastructure to promote the transformation of employment structure,and provides inspiration for promoting the high skilled transformation of employment structure.
