Spatial Agglomeration Structure of Digital Economy Drives Common Prosperity——Based on the Mechanism of Regional Innovation and Industrial Structure Upgrading
Based on the provincial and urban panel data from 2011 to 2021,this paper firstly con-structs the common prosperity evaluation system of a'material-spiritual-ecological'three-dimensional system and measures it using the entropy weight method,and then empirically investigates the influence of spatial agglomeration structure of digital economy on common prosperity and its functioning mechanism using static panel model and instrumental variables estimation.Then,we empirically examined the impact of the spatial agglomeration structure of the digital economy on common prosperity and its mechanism by using the static panel data model and instrumental variable estimation.It is found that:(1)The level of common prosperity and digital economy polycentricity is higher in the eastern region compared with the cen-tral and western regions.(2)The monocentric spatial agglomeration structure of the digital economy is prone to inducing vertical over-agglomeration of spatial geography,which is not conducive to the compre-hensive promotion of common prosperity,while the polycentric spatial agglomeration structure is prone to the formation of flat spatial linkage growth patterns,which is helpful to the comprehensive promotion of common prosperity.(3)The monocentric spatial agglomeration structure of the digital economy indirectly hinders the overall common prosperity by exacerbating the imbalance in the allocation of regional innovation factors and the imbalance in the layout of industrial structure,while the polycentric spatial agglomeration structure indirectly promotes the overall common prosperity by facilitating the balance of the allocation of re-gional innovation factors and the optimization of the layout of industrial structure.In order to solidly pro-mote common prosperity,the government should advocate initiatives such as promoting the strengthening and expansion of the digital economy,rationally laying out the spatial concentration structure of the digital economy,and reinforcing path dependence.
