Analysis of China's Economic Research Focus in 2023
The year 2023 is the eighth year that we have researched China's economic research focus.Based on economic literature reprinted in China Social Science Excellence(CSSE),we comprehensively absorb experience and methods of focuses proposed in previous years,and conduct multiple rounds of discussions with relevant experts and scholars,finally forming nine economic research focuses in 2023.Firstly,China's independent economic knowledge system should be constructed.From the perspective of the history of economic thought,economists have made a systematic investigation into the origin and evolution of this topic and conducted an in-depth exploration of its basic framework,theoretical connotation and research methods.All branches of economics are actively exploring and constructing an independent knowledge system that is in line with China's reality.Secondly,we should strengthen the internal driving force of China's economic development by expanding domestic demand.We will deepen supply-side structural reform,strive to expand effective demand,and break through the breakpoints,blocked points,and bottlenecks in their combination,thus enhancing the endogenous driving force and reliability of the domestic circulation.Thirdly,the development of digital economy research should be accelerated.With the vigorous development of the digital economy,research on the digital economy has been deepened,including in-depth exploration of general theories,deep integration of the digital economy and the real economy,and research on promoting the marketization of data elements.Fourthly,research on regional coordinated development should be promoted.Current research mainly focuses on new connotations,new trends,and new problems of regional coordinated development,as well as the promotion paths.Fifthly,the modernization level of industry and supply chains should be upgraded.The current research progress is mainly reflected in the resilience of industry and supply chains,digital development,and green development.Sixthly,research on the national innovation system of high-level self-reliance and self-improvement in science and technology should be promoted.Scholars are deeply deconstructing the concept,connotation,and characteristics of high-level self-reliance and self-improvement in science and technology,while continuously enriching the content and dimensions of this thesis.Seventhly,it is about the financial supply-side structural reform and modern financial supervision.Scholars have explained in depth the relationship between financial supply-side structural reform and high-quality development and Chinese modernization,and analyzed the importance of building a modern financial supervision system.Eighthly,China's strength in agriculture should be enhanced.Agricultural economists have conducted an in-depth analysis of the connotation,basic characteristics,and realization path of building up China's strength in agriculture.Ninthly,it is about the theory and practice of the construction of the Belt and Road in ten years.Under the Belt and Road Initiative,Chinese scholars have analyzed exchanges and cooperation between China and participating countries and international organizations.
