The Internationalization of RMB in the Digital Economy Era——A Study from the Perspective of Political Economy
The internationalization of RMB is an important strategy in the process of promoting Chinese modernization,many existing literature views the launch of digital fiat currency as a crucial and even decisive step in the internationalization process of RMB,this idea needs to be discussed again.Behind the international currency competition is the competition of com-prehensive capabilities such as national economy and politics,which has a complex underlying logic in its formation.Although the development of digital fiat currency does provide new opportunities for the internationalization of the RMB,overestimating its strategic value also carries the risk of simplifying the problem.We must base ourselves on the thinking of political economy and examine the advantages and challenges of RMB internationalization in the digital economy era from a more macro perspective,so as to provide more practical solutions for the in-depth development of the RMB.
