Study on the Impact of Domestic and International Industrial Chain Coupling Coordination on National Innovation Efficacy
This study examines the impact of domestic and international industrial chain coupling coordination on national innovation efficacy using panel data from 56 countries over the period 2011-2022.The findings reveal that enhanced coupling coordination within both domestic and international industrial chains significantly boosts national innovation efficacy. The re-search identifies several mechanisms through which this positive influence operates, including strengthening enterprise innova-tion incentives, generating and expanding international technology spillover effects and increasing market preferences for innova-tion.Moreover,heterogeneity analysis reveals that this positive effect is more pronounced in countries characterized by higher knowledge absorption capacity, strongerprominence of firms as key innovation actors, and greater levels of equal opportunity. The findings of this study have significant implications for China in building a new development pattern where the domestic cycle plays the main role and the domestic and international cycles mutually reinforce each other. These findings also help to prevent large-scale industrial relocation and extreme de-globalization scenarios, promote the coordinated development of domestic and international industrial chains, pool domestic and international innovation resources, enhance national innovation efficacy, and build an innovative country.
