Research on Labor Organization and Process Control in the Live Economy:Based on Marxian Labor Process Theory
Live streaming is a typical new business model of platform economy, characterized by new productivity and pro-duction relationships. The organization of labor within the live streaming ecosystem shows a transition from individualization to organization. This article, based on Marx's theory of the labor process and following his methodological approach from general to specific, analyzes the general elements and specific manifestations of labor in live streaming. The analysis reveals that technologi-cal control, monopolistic control, and organizational control are the general methods by which platforms control the labor process.Platforms establish a dual-subject control structure, centered on the platform and supported by live streaming guilds:the plat-form reinforces the actual subordination of streamers through technology and ideology, while the guilds formally ensure that streamer labor is subordinate to the platform. At the same time, platforms enhance efficiency, isolate risks, and weaken labor-capital conflicts through guilds.Exploring the organizational forms of labor and the control of the labor process in the live stream-ing industry is significant for developing healthy labor relations within platform-based new business models.
