The Impact of Industrial Intelligence on Redistribution Preferences:From the Perspective of Employment Polarization and Income Polarization
In recent years, industrial robots have been widely used in all walks of life,in the context of weak economic development and social inclusion, people have strong concerns about industrial robots replacing human employment, reducing labor income, and affect-ing the income distribution pattern. To further explore this issue, based on the data of the China Household Tracking Survey(CFPS)from 2014 to 2018,this paper empirically studies the impact of industrial intelligence on people's redistribution preferences from sub-jective and objective dimensions. At the same time, from the perspective of employment polarization and income polarization, this pa-per also discusses the specific path of industrial intelligence affecting redistribution preference. The results show that,at the subjective level, industrial intelligence intensifies people's perception of inequality and deepens their understanding of social security issues, thus strengthening their redistributive preferences. From an objective point of view, industrial intelligence has intensified social inequality and provided a realistic basis for people to enhance their redistribution preferences. In terms of mechanism analysis, the research finds that the development of industrial intelligence leads to the phenomenon of employment polarization in the labor market, that is,the number of conventional occupation jobs decreases, while the number of non-conventional occupation jobs increases. This change in employment structure further intensifies the problem of income polarization and makes the distribution of social wealth even more une-qual.Therefore,people are more inclined to support the adjustment of income distribution through redistribution to alleviate the nega-tive effects of social inequality.
