As the world is undergoing profound changes unseen in a century,it is of strategic significance for Northeast Asian countries to strengthen the economic and trade cooperation between each other,build closer trade partnerships,and promote high-quality development of trade cooperation.At present,the eco-nomic and trade cooperation in Northeast Asia is facing some challenges,such as the unsound mechanism of regional economic and trade cooperation,slow progress in energy and financial cooperation,lack of a devel-oped commodity futures market,and intensified geopolitical tensions.To promote regional economic and trade cooperation,Northeast Asian countries should take the following measures:working together to explore eco-nomic and trade cooperation models and mechanisms that meet their regional characteristics and needs and boosting trade liberalization;deepening energy cooperation to maintain regional energy security;establishing a sound system of financial service trade rules and promoting the expansion and deepening of cooperation;build-ing a commodity futures market and enhancing the voice in pricing;developing good economic and trade rela-tions and improving political mutual trust.
