Enhancing the resilience of the manufacturing industry is the key to building up China's strength in manufacturing.This article establishes an evaluation index system for manufacturing industry resil-ience and digital economy based on the provincial panel data in China from 2012 to 2022,and empirically tests the impact and mechanism of digital economy on manufacturing industry resilience.The results show that the digital economy can significantly improve the resilience of the manufacturing industry.The digital economy can indirectly enhance the resilience of the manufacturing industry by improving factor allocation,utilization efficiency,and quality,thereby alleviating the misallocation of manufacturing resources.The hetero-geneity analysis shows that the impact of the digital economy on manufacturing industry resilience is influ-enced by geographical location and regional digital economic development.To fully leverage the role of the digital economy in enhancing the resilience of the manufacturing industry,we should accelerate the scale de-velopment of the digital economy,deepen the integration of the digital economy with manufacturing,ameliorate resource misallocation by the digital economy,and fully consider the different influences of the digital economy in different regions.
