The Effect of Health Education on Preventing Complications in Elderly Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer Patients
Objective To explore the application effectiveness of health education in the treatment of elderly non-small cell lung cancer patients. Methods From March 2020 to April 2023,52 elderly non-small cell lung cancer patients admitted to a hospital were selected as the subjects.Using the number table method, patients were randomly divided into a control group and an intervention group, with 26 cases in each group.Routine treatment and management were implemented for the control group patients, while the intervention group received health education interventions based on the control group measures. After intervention, the incidence of complications, mastery of disease knowledge, and quality of life scores of the two groups of patients were been evaluated. Results After the intervention, the incidence of adverse reactions in the intervention group(11.54%)was significantly higher than that in the control group(30.77%),while treatment compliance(100.00%)was significantly higher than that in the control group(76.92%).The results of Difference-in-differences analysis showed that the improvement of disease knowledge and quality of life in the intervention group were better than those in the control group after intervention, and the net effects of the intervention were statistically significant. Conclusion Health education for elderly non-small cell lung cancer patients during treatment can increase their understanding of their own symptoms and treatment plans, reduce the incidence of complications during treatment, and improve their quality of life, which is helpful for patient recovery.
