Investigation on the Cognition of Prevention and Treatment of Viral Hepatitis Among People Aged 15 Years and Over in Tibet
Objective To understand the cognition of people aged 15 years and above on the prevention and treatment of viral hepatitis in Tibet,so as to provide a basis for formulating health education strategies.Methods A questionnaire survey was conducted among 2 706 permanent residents aged 15 years and above in Tibet by stratified cluster random sampling.Results The total awareness rate of viral hepatitis prevention and treatment among people aged 15 years and above in Tibet was 54.93%.There were significant differences in awareness rate among gender,city,region,cultural level,and occupational distribution.Medical staff were the source of health knowledge that the survey subjects most hope to receive.Conclusion There are differences in the awareness rate of viral hepatitis among different populations in Tibet.It is suggested to focus on women,people with low educational background,farmers and herdsmen,and carry out various forms of health education with medical personnel as the main force.
