Objective To understand the level of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)health culture literacy in the residents of Jing'an District,Shanghai,and provide a scientific basis for formulating targeted intervention measures.Methods A total of 240 people residents aged 15-69 years old from 3 sub-districts were selected for investigation by multistage stratified cluster random sampling method.Results The overall level of TCM health culture literacy in Jing'an District was 42.50%.The residents'literacy level increased with the improvement of education level;the level of health culture literacy of residents with Shanghai household registration was higher than that of residents with non-Shanghai household registration.Among the five dimensions of TCM health culture literacy,information understanding ability,general knowledge of TCM culture,healthy lifestyle,basic concepts information understanding ability,and appropriate methods for the public were 76.67%,67.50%,63.33%,56.67%,and 9.58%,respectively.Conclusion The residents of Jing'an District have a certain level of TCM health culture literacy,but the population distribution is uneven.Therefore,it is necessary to strengthen the popularization and guidance of suitable methods for TCM among the public,in order to improve the level of TCM health culture literacy in Jing'an District.
