A Research on the Impact of Parent-Child Attachment on the Mental Health Level of Rural Children
Objective To explore the impact of parent-child attachment on the mental health of rural children and provide a basis for developing intervention strategies for their mental health.Methods The questionnaire survey and interviews were conducted on 52 children using the Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire,Self-Esteem Scale,and Inventory of Parental and Peer Attachment.Results The proportion of rural children with issues related to conduct,peer relationships,prosocial behavior,self-esteem,and parent-child relational problems were 23.08%,76.92%,44.23%,46.15%,and 38.00%,respectively.Parent-child attachment scores were negatively correlated with emotional symptoms,conduct,and hyperactivity,and positively correlated with peer interaction and self-esteem.Conclusion Peer relationship problems,insufficient prosocial behavior,and conduct issues are more prominent among rural children.Parent-child attachment was an important indicator for measuring children's mental health and can have an impact on their mental health.
