Status and Development of Home-Based Rehabilitation in the Perspective of Healthy China
Currently,China is facing an increasingly severe aging population issue, leading to a rise in cerebrovascular and chronic diseases among the elderly.Additionally, individuals with orthopedic conditions and long-term pain have specific physiological, psychological, and social needs. To enhance the quality of life for these individuals and expedite the establishment of a comprehensive social health security system, the government proposes harnessing the pivotal role of home rehabilitation within current medical services development. This can be achieved through support from local communities, community healthcare professionals, caregivers,as well as leveraging innovative approaches such as Internet-based community health management models, remote rehabilitation models, home rehabilitation training robots etc.,to provide rehabilitation services for patients in their own homes.Home rehabilitation not only caters to disabled or elderly individuals and those suffering from chronic illnesses or disabilities but also offers advantages such as cost savings on medical expenses while reducing family burdens and caregiver dependency ultimately enhancing patient satisfaction levels.
