Analysis of the Current Situation and Influencing Factors of Family Sex Education for Parents of Primary and Secondary School Students in Qingpu District,Shanghai
Objective To understand the current situation of sex education among parents of students in Qingpu District and explore its influencing factors,in order to provide a basis for better sex education among primary and secondary school students.Methods A multi-stage random cluster sampling method was used to select some parents from primary,middle,and high schools in Qingpu District for a questionnaire survey.Results The proportion of parents who supported their children receiving sex education was 96.34%,but only 52.93%of parents have actually provided family sex education.Multivariate unconditional logistic regression analysis showed that family relationships,parental education level,children's attitudes towards sex education,and who should bear the main educational responsibility were the main factors affecting the implementation of sex education in families.Conclusion The attitude of parents towards sexual education is positive in Qingpu District,however,the proactive implementation of related education within families is not satisfactory.It is recommended to take multiple measures to improve the parents'ability and level in conducting sexual education.
