Optimization of inpatient drug management model based on information system
Objective Optimize the inpatient drug management mode,and improve the quality and efficiency of drug dis-pensing,logistics transportation,and drug return in ward.Methods A total of 98 776 inpatient medical orders before the op-timization of inpatient drug management mode in the Third People's Hospital of Chengdu from May to August 2021 were se-lected as the control group.Based on the information system,the process of inpatient drug dispensing,drug logistics transport and drug return in ward was optimized.A total of 102 418 inpatient orders after process optimization from February to May 2022 were selected as the experimental group.The changes of dispensing time,dispensing error rate,number of dis-tribution workers and drug withdrawal rate in ward were compared between the two groups.Results The total dispensing time and worker distribution time of the inpatient pharmacy in the experimental group were shorter than those in the control group,and the dispensing error rate was 0.26%lower than that of the control group 0.05%,with statistical significances(P<0.05).After the process optimization,the overall rate of drug return in the ward was reduced by 78.05%,the labor cost was saved by 1 drug return post,2 distribution workers,and the material cost was about 35 000 yuan/year.Conclusion The op-timization of the inpatient drug management process effectively reduces the occurrence of errors,improves work efficiency,and ensures the quality of drugs and the safety of patient medication.
