Application of pre-rehabilitation nursing in inguinal hernia patients un-dergoing day surgery
Objective To explore the effect of preoperative pre-rehabilitation nursing on the postoperative recovery quality of patients undergoing day surgery for inguinal hernia. Methods A total of 339 patients with inguinal hernia who had sched-uled surgery at the Day Surgery Center of the First Affiliated Hospital of Dalian Medical University from January 2019 to April 2021 were selected as the research objects, and they were divided into control group(171 cases)and observation group(168 cases)according to coin toss method. The control group was given routine preoperative nursing, and the observation group was given pre-rehabilitation nursing, which included exercise pre-rehabilitation,nutritional support, psychological intervention, pain and defecation management in addition to routine preoperative nursing. The rate of operation cancellation, recovery 6 h after operation, early complications and patients'satisfaction were compared between the two groups. Results A total of 321 patients completed the whole study, including 161 patients in the control group and 160 patients in the observa-tion group. The satisfaction, the scores of emotion and activity of daily living in postoperative recovery quality score and the score of numerical rating scale(NRS)at 6 h after surgery of patients in observation group were higher than those in control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the incidence of other early postoperative complications between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion Pre-rehabilitation nursing can effec-tively improve the quality of postoperative recovery and patients'satisfaction for patients undergoing day surgery for inguinal hernia.
