Research progress of Codonopsis and its traditional compound prescrip-tion on prevention and treatment of digestive diseases
Codonopsis and its traditional compound prescription Wenweishu Capsules,Lizhong Pills,Guben Yichang Tablets and Jianpi Pills are widely used in the prevention and treatment of digestive system diseases,but their material basis and molecular mechanism have not been clearly explained.By searching the domestic and foreign databases,this study summarized the modern research progress of Codonopsis and its compound prescription on the prevention and treatment of digestive system diseases,and put forward the corresponding countermeasures.The mechanism of Codonopsis in the treat-ment of digestive diseases is related to anti-lipid peroxidation,inhibiting the expression of nuclear factor kappa-B(NF-K B),regulating the secretion of inflammatory factors,etc.It can play a role in the treatment of colitis.The mechanism of Codonopsis compound prescription Wenweishu Capsules is related to inhibiting NF-κ B pathway,regulating the level of pepsin and tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),etc.It is mainly used for treating chronic gastritis.The mechanism of action of Lizhong Pills is related to the regulation of platelet activating factor(PAF),interleukin(IL)-6,IL-8 levels,etc.,so as to play a role in the treatment of gastric ulcer.Guben Yichang Tablets are mainly used to treat functional diarrhea and antibiotic-related diarrhea.Lizhong Pills and Guben Yichang Tablets can improve the therapeutic effect of irritable bowel syndrome,the mechanism of which is related to reducing the contents of somatostatin(SS)and motilin(MTL).Although the mechanism of action of Jianpi Pills is not clear,clinical application shows that it has a significant effect on functional dyspepsia.According to the existing problems in the research of Codonopsis and its compound prescription,it is suggested to further study the material basis,in vivo process and mechanism of action of Codonopsis and its compound prescription in the prevention and treatment of digestive system diseases,so as to provide data basis for its scientific,reasonable and efficient application.
