Application of oral Rhubarb water combined with Mirabilite externally on abdominal application in gastrointestinal function recovery after col-orectal surgery
Objective To investigate the application of oral Rhubarb water combined with Mirabilite externally on abdomi-nal application in postoperative gastrointestinal function recovery of colorectal surgery patients.Methods A total of 100 col-orectal surgery patients admitted to Gaoxin Hospital,the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University from March 2021 to June 2023 were selected as the study objects,and were divided into test group and control group by drawing lots,with 50 cases each.Control group received conventional Western medicine symptomatic treatment after operation,and oral warm water.The experimental group took the same amount of raw Rhubarb water and applied Mirabilite externally to the abdomen after the operation.The surgical indexes,laboratory indexes and complications of the two groups were compared.Results The remission of abdominal distension,recovery of bowel sound,anal exhaust and postoperative hospitalization time in ex-perimental groups were shorter than those in control group,and the hospitalization cost was lower than that in control group,with statistical significance(P＜0.05).After intervention,the white blood cell count(WBC),neutrophil(NE)percentage and C-reactive protein(CRP)level of the two groups were lower than before intervention,and the index levels of the test group were lower than that of the control group,with statistical significance(P＜0.05).After intervention,the levels of IgA,IgM and IgG in two groups were higher than before intervention,and the levels of indexes in experimental group were higher than those in control group,with statistical significance(P＜0.05).After intervention,the levels of motilin and gastrin in two groups were higher than before intervention,and the levels of indexes in experimental group were higher than those in con-trol group,with statistical significance(P＜0.05).There was no significant difference in the incidence of postoperative com-plications between the two groups(P＞0.05).Conclusion The combined application of Rhubarb water and Mirabilite exter-nally on the abdomen after colorectal surgery can promote the recovery of gastrointestinal function,regulate gastrointestinal hormones,improve immune function and have high safety.
