Effect of low-frequency acupuncture therapy based on Midnight-Noon Cycle of Qi on persistent postpartum urinary retention in parturients with labor analgesia
Objective To investigate the effect of low-frequency acupuncture therapy based on Midnight-Noon Cycle of Qi on the occurrence of persistent postpartum urinary retention(PPUR)in women with labor analgesia. Methods A total of 60 puerpera with PPUR during childbirth analgesia in Ganzhou Maternal and Child Health Hospital from June 2020 to Au-gust 2022 were selected as the study objects, and were divided into control group and observation group by random number table method, with 30 cases in each group. The control group received routine intervention measures, and the observation group received low-frequency acupuncture therapy based on Midnight-Noon Cycle of Qi on the basis of control group. Both groups were intervened for 1 week. The first urination time and volume, residual bladder urine volume and quality of life(QOL)before and after intervention, satisfaction were compared between the two groups. Results The first urination time of the observation group was shorter than that of the control group, and the first urination volume was higher than that of the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After intervention, the residual urinary volume of blad-der in both groups were less than before intervention, and residual urinary volume of the observation group was less than the control group, the QOL scores of the two groups were higher than before intervention, and the QOL score of observation group was higher than the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The total satisfaction of the observation group was higher than that of the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclu-sion Low-frequency acupuncture therapy based on Midnight-Noon Cycle of Qi applied to women with PPUR after labor analgesia can promote urination and improve their quality of life with high satisfaction.
