Clinical efficacy of"brain and intestine combined treatment"acupuncture therapy in treating post-stroke cognitive impairment
Objective To observe the clinical effect of"brain and intestine combined treatment"acupuncture therapy on post-stroke cognitive impairment(PSCI).Methods A total of 100 patients with PSCI admitted to Rehabilitation Hospital Af-filiated to Fujian University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January 2021 to January 2022 were selected as the study objects,and they were divided into control group and treatment group according to random number table method,with 50 cases in each group.The control group received oral Donepezil,and the treatment group received acupuncture and oral Donepezil.After 4 weeks of intervention,the response rate and the scores of activities of daily living(ADL),Montreal cogni-tive assessment test(MoCA)and mini-mental state examination(MMSE)were compared between the two groups.Results The total effective rate of the treatment group was higher than that of the control group,the difference was statistically signif-icant(P<0.05).Before treatment,there were no significant differences in ADL,MoCA and MMSE between the two groups(P>0.05).After treatment,the scores of MMSE,MoCA and Barthel in two groups were higher than those before treatment,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion"Brain and intestine combined treatment"acupunc-ture therapy can improve the cognitive ability and quality of life of patients with PSCI,which has high clinical value.
