Comparison of trace elements in whole blood between patients with vitili-go and healthy subjects
Objective The differences between vitiligo patients and healthy subjects were evaluated,so as to explore the influence of trace elements on the pathogenesis of vitiligo. Methods A total of 29 patients with vitiligo and 53 healthy physical examination subjects admitted to Department of Central Laboratory, the Second Affiliated Hospital of Henan University of Science and Technology from August 2022 to June 2023 were selected as the study objects.Agilent 7850 inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer was used to detect ten trace elements(calcium, magnesium, iron, copper, zinc, lead, selenium, molybdenum, manganese, chromium)in whole blood, and the difference between the two groups of trace elements was analyzed. Results The concentration of copper in healthy group was higher than that in vitiligo group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).There were no significant differences in other trace elements(calcium, magnesium, iron, zinc, lead, selenium, molybdenum, manganese and chromium)between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion Compared with healthy patients, the content of copper in vitiligo patients was reduced, which proved that copper had have something to do with the pathogenesis of vitiligo. There were no significant correlation between calcium, magnesium, iron, zinc, lead, selenium, molybdenum, manganese, chromium and the incidence of vitiligo. This study provides important data support for domestic research on the relationship between trace elements and the pathogenesis of vitiligo, expands the statistical analysis of relevant test data, and provides an important basis for clinical treatment of vitiligo.
