Effect of unilateral biportal endoscopy in the treatment of Ⅰ-Ⅱ degree degenerative spondylolisthesis
Objective To investigate the curative effect of unilateral biportal endoscopy(UBE)in the treatment of Ⅰ-Ⅱdegree degenerative spondylolisthesis. Methods A total of 49 patients who underwent surgery for grade Ⅰ-Ⅱ degenerative spondylolisthesis in the Department of Orthopedics,Chashan Hospital of Dongguan from January 2020 to January 2022 were selected as the research subjects. They were divided into two groups according to the different surgical methods, minimally invasive surgery-transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion(MIS-Tlif)group(n=25)and UBE group(n=24).The perioperative indicators(operation time, intraoperative blood loss, incision length, drainage time, drainage volume, hospitalization time),visual analogue scale(VAS)scores before and after operation, and Oswestry disability index(ODI)were compared between the two groups. The curative effect was evaluated by modified MacNab,and the complications of the two groups were compared. Results The operation time, drainage time, hospitalization time, and incision length of UBE group were shorter than those of MIS-Tlif group, and the intraoperative blood loss and drainage volume were less than those of MIS-Tlif group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in VAS and ODI scores between the two groups 12 months after operation(P>0.05).There was no significant difference in the excellent and good rate of treatment and the total incidence of complications between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion Both UBE and MIS-Tlif have shown good efficacy in the treatment of single-level degenerative lumbar spondylolisthesis in elderly patients. However,UBE technology has more advantages in terms of operation time, intraoperative blood loss, drainage volume, drainage time, and length of hospital stay.It is a feasible technical method worthy of clinical promotion.
