Investigate the association of stanniocalcin-1 with tumor ecurrence and prognosis of urothelial bladder cancer
Objective To investigate the role of stanniocalcin-1(STC1)expression in bladder urothelial carcinoma.Meth-ods A total of 126 patients with bladder cancer tumor resection admitted to the Department of Urology and Nephrology in Weifang Yidu Central Hospital from August 2011 to April 2018 were selected as the study objects.Immunohistochemistry was used to detect the expression of STC1 in 126 samples of bladder urothelial carcinoma.Samples with immunohistochem-istry score ≥ 4 were classified as STC 1 high expression group(31 cases),while samples with score<4 were classified as STC1 low expression group(95 cases). The correlation between STC1 expression and clinicopathological factors was ana-lyzed.Survival curve was drawn by Kaplan-Meier method to analyze the role of STC1 expression in the prognosis of patients with urinary tract carcinoma.Cox regression model was used to analyze the risk factors of adverse prognosis in patients with bladder urothelial carcinoma. Results The expression of STC1 in patients with stage T2-T4 bladder urothelial carcinoma was higher than that in patients with stage Ta-T1,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The results of uni-variate analysis showed that there was significant difference between high and low expression of STC 1 in tumor recurrence(P<0.05).The high expression of STC1 is a poor prognostic factor(P<0.05),and the results of multivariate analysis showed that the high expression of STC1 is an influential factor for recurrence(P<0.05),and the high expression of STC1 was an independent prognostic risk factor for urinary tract carcinoma(P<0.05).Conclusion STC1 expression could be an inde-pendent biomarker which was related to the easy recur-rence and poor prognosis of urothelial bladder cancer.
