Effect of Zhenwu Decoction on non-proliferative diabetic retinopathy with renal Yin deficiency and its influence on retinal blood flow dynamics
Objective To explore the effect of Zhenwu Decoction on the retinal blood flow dynamics in patients with non-proliferative diabetic retinopathy with renal Yin deficiency.Methods A total of 66 patients with non-proliferative dia-betic retinopathy with renal Yin deficiency treated in Jiujiang Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from May 2021 to May 2022 were selected as the study objects,and they were divided into control group(33 cases)and observation group(33 cases)according to random number table method.The control group was treated with Calcium Hydroxybenzenesulfonic Acid Capsules,and the observation group was treated with Zhenwu Decoction.The blood glucose level,24 h urinary protein,plasma endothelin(ET),endothelium dependent relaxation function and retinal hemodynamics were compared between the two groups.Results Before treatment,there were no significant differences in blood glucose level and 24 h urinary protein content between two groups(P＞0.05).After treatment,the levels of all indexes in the two groups were lower than those be-fore treatment,and the blood glucose and 24 h urinary protein in the observation group were lower than those in the control group,with statistical significances(P＜0.05).Before treatment,there were no significantly differences in plasma ET and vascular endothelium-dependent relaxation function between two groups(P＞0.05).After treatment,ET in two groups were lower than those before treatment,and vascular endothelium-dependent relaxation function were higher than those before treatment,and ET in observation group was lower than that of control group,and vascular endothelium-dependent relaxation function was higher than that of control group,with statistical significances(P＜0.05).After treatment,visual acuity and re-sistance index(RI)in observation group were higher than those in control group,visual field gray value,peak systolic veloci-ty(PSV)and end diastolic velocity(EDV)in observation group were lower than those in control group,the differences were statistically significant(P＜0.05).There were statistically significant differences in time,intergroup and interaction of best corrected vision(BCVA),retinal thickness between the two groups(P＜0.05).Conclusion After treatment with Zhenwu De-coction,the blood glucose level of patients with non-proliferative diabetic retinopathy with renal Yin deficiency is improved obviously,the levels of retinal hemodynamic indexes tends to be normal,and the plasma ET and vascular endothelial relax-ation function of patients are improved,which can be used for reference and promotion in clinical practice.
