Clinical effect of warm acupuncture on chronic non-specific low back pain with kidney-yang deficiency
Objective To explore the clinical effect of warm acupuncture on chronic non-specific low back pain(CNLBP)with kidney-yang deficiency. Methods A total of 144 CNLBP patients admitted to traditional Chinese medicine Outpatient Department of the First Department of Outpatient,GuoYu Health Management Center from May 2022 to May 2023 were se-lected as the study objects.According to random number table method, the patients were divided into warm acupuncture group(72 cases)and conventional rehabilitation group(72 cases).During the intervention and follow-up,5 and 7 cases were removed from warm acupuncture group and conventional rehabilitation group, respectively, and 67 and 65 cases were in-cluded in the warm acupuncture group and conventional rehabilitation group, respectively, for statistics. The warm acupunc-ture group was treated with warm acupuncture and massage.Shenshu(double),Mingmen,Waiyangguan,Weizhong(double),A Shi point were selected. On the basis of massage therapy, the conventional rehabilitation group was treated with fake pho-tographs.Patients in both groups were treated 3 times a week,2 weeks as a course of treatment,a total of 2 courses of treat-ment,follow-up for 1 month.Visual analogue scale(VAS),lumbar joint range of motion and Oswestry disability index(ODI)were compared before the first treatment, after 1 course of treatment,at the end of treatment and at follow-up between the two groups, and the efficacy was evaluated at the end of treatment. Results After treatment, the total effective rate of warm acupuncture group(94.03%)was higher than that of conventional rehabilitation group(75.38%),and the difference was sta-tistically significant(P<0.05).After 1 course of treatment,VAS score and ODI score of warm acupuncture group were lower than those of conventional rehabilitation group, and lumbar joint motion in all directions were greater than those of conven-tional rehabilitation group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Warm acupuncture on CNLBP with kidney-yang deficiency type can effectively reduce pain symptoms, improve lumbar joint motion and ODI score, and is superior to massage therapy.
