Objective The epidemiological characteristics and treatment status of trauma patients were analyzed to provide support for public trauma prevention and control.Methods Data of 10 577 trauma patients admitted to Chaozhou Central Hospital from January 2018 to December 2020 were collected,and gender,age,time of injury,cause of injury,location of injury,severity,treatment and prognosis of patients were analyzed.Results Among the 10 577 trauma patients,6 772 were males and 3 805 were females.The youth aged 18~44 years accounted for the largest proportion of trauma,accounting for 34.1%.The death age of trauma≥60 years old accounted for the largest proportion(40.3%).The most traumatic events oc-curred in July,and the most traumatic events occurred 10:00-12:00 in a day.The most common cause of injury was traffic accident injury(46.0%),the most common injury site was head injury(36.0%),the most severe injuries were mild trauma(68.2%),the most surgeries were dethronation and suture(35.47%),the most surgeries were lower extremity surgery(31.97%),and the most surgeries were first-degree surgery(43.0%).The complication rate of trauma patients was 34.88%,the most common complications were systemic inflammatory response syndrome(13.99%)and shock(10.60%),and the total fatality rate of trauma was 1.22%.The patients who stayed in hospital for more than 15 days accounted for 38.40%.Conclu-sions Trauma primarily affects young and middle-aged males.Traffic accidents are the leading cause of injury,with the head being the most common injury site.Trauma incidents peak in July and during the hours of 10:00-12:00 daily.Trauma pa-tients have a high incidence of complications,prolonged hospital stays,and substantial consumption of medical resources.
