Objective To analyze the iodine nutritional status of children with congenital hypothyroidism(CH)in Zhaoqing City, and to provide a basis for scientific iodine supplementation for CH children in this area. Methods A total of 180 chil-dren with CH who were diagnosed by newborn disease screening technology and regularly followed up and treated in Zhao-qing City from April 2021 to August 2022 were selected as the research objects.Urinary iodine was determined by arsenic cerium catalytic spectrophotometry, and the iodine nutritional level of children with CH was analyzed. Results The average urinary iodine level of 180 children with CH was(198.35±40.25)μg/L,of which 2 cases(1.11%)had insufficient iodine nutrition,123 cases(68.33%)had adequate iodine nutrition,40 cases(22.22%)had iodine nutrition above the appropriate amount, and 15 cases(8.33%)had iodine nutrition above the standard. There were no significant differences in the distribu-tion of urinary iodine and iodine nutritional status between different ages and genders(P>0.05).There were significant dif-ferences in the levels of FT3,FT4,TT3,TT4 and TSH in different nutritional status(P<0.05).In children with CH,the urinary iodine level was negatively correlated with FT3,FT4,TT3 and TT4(P<0.05),but not with TSH(P>0.05).Conclusion The iodine nutrition level of children with congenital hypothyroidism in Zhaoqing City is relatively reasonable. It is necessary to take into account the prevention of iodine deficiency while accepting such children in order to promote the better growth and development of children.
