Objective To investigate the effect of acupoint injection of Mecobalamin in the prevention and treatment of Ox-aliplatin-induced peripheral neuropathy. Methods Sixty patients with gastrointestinal cancer were selected as the research subjects who underwent chemotherapy in the Jiangxi Cancer Hospital from January to December 2022.They were divided into treatment group and control group by random number table method,30 cases in each group. Both groups of patients were treated with chemotherapy containing Oxaliplatin regimen. In addition, patients in the control group were intramuscu-larly injected with Mecobalamin, and in the treatment group, they were injected with Mecobalamin at Zusanli(ST36)point.The incidence of neurotoxicity,Karnofsky performance status(KPS)score, and score of quality of life were compared be-tween the two groups. Results The degree of neurotoxicity in the treatment group was lower than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).There was no statistical difference in KPS score or quality of life score before treatment in both groups(P>0.05).The KPS score and quality of life score of the two groups after treatment were lower than those before treatment, the scores of KPS,social function, psychological function, physical function, and material life of the treatment group after treatment were higher than those of the control group, and the differences were sta-tistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Mecobalamin acupoint injection can better prevent Oxaliplatin-induced periph-eral neuropathy, reduce neurotoxicity, provide favorable regulation for patients to successfully complete chemotherapy, slow down the decline of functional status and quality of life, and has high clinical application value.
