Objective To explore the impact of health education of specialist nurses on public health literacy and health perception.Methods A total of 120 residents who entered the community or went to the grassroots to implement health edu-cation from January 2022 to January 2023 were selected.According to the World Health Organization and China's age clas-sification standards,the residents were divided into youth group,middle-aged group,and elderly male group,with 40 mem-bers in each group.Specialized nurses gave health education to all residents for one month,and the changes of residents'Health literacy,health perception and professional nursing values of specialized nurses before and after the education were compared.Results The scores of written health information ability,communication ability with health care providers,evalu-ation and application ability of health information in the three groups of all aspects of health literacy scale(AAHLS)after the lecture were higher than those before the lecture,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The scores of behavior expectation and result expectation in the three groups of perceived health competence scale(PHCS)after the pre-sentation were higher than those before the presentation,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The scores of care provision,activism,freedom of responsibility and safety in the nurses professional values scale-revised(NPVSR)of specialist nurses after the lecture were higher than those before the lecture,with statistically significant differ-ences(P<0.05).Conclusion The health education of specialist nurses can improve the public's health literacy and health perception ability,and is conducive to the improvement of their own professional values
