Application effect of self-management manual on type 2 diabetic patients in community
Objective To explore the application effect of self-management manual in type 2 diabetes patients in the commu-nity,and construct a new type of self-management process for diabetes patients,in order to provide the basis for widespread use in communities across the country.Methods A total of 110 patients with type 2 diabetes who were treated and documented in Shandong Chronic Disease Hospital from June 2020 to April 2021 were selected as the research objects,and they were divided into experimental group and control group according to random number table method,with 55 cases in each group.The experimental group was given self-management manual,and individual comprehensive management goals were set for each patient.The manual was used for intervention management for a period of 12 months.The control group only received health education,routine drug treatment,and diary cards to record the changes of the condition and drug use,without inter-vention.One year later,8 indicators,including blood glucose,glycated hemoglobin,blood pressure,triglyceride,total choles-terol,high density lipoprotein cholesterol,low density lipoprotein cholesterol and body mass index were collected again for sta-tistical analysis.Results Before intervention,there were no significant differences in blood glucose and related indexes be-tween the two groups(P＞0.05).After intervention,fasting blood glucose,2 h postprandial blood glucose,systolic blood pres-sure,diastolic blood pressure,body mass index,total cholesterol,triglyceride and low density lipoprotein cholesterol in experi-mental group were lower than those before intervention,and high density lipoprotein cholesterol was higher than that before intervention,with statistical significances(P＜0.05).Conclusion The application of self-management manual to community di-abetes patients can give full play to the initiative and potential of patients,make them form self-management awareness and health behavior,and play a certain effect in blood sugar con-trol,and enable community doctors to play their guiding role,which is worthy of vigorous promotion in the community.
