Observation on the clinical effect of Wechsler manipulation combined with silver needle in the treatment of lumbar disc herniation
Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of Wechsler maneuver combined with silver needle in the treatment of lumbar disc herniation(LDH).Methods Sixty patients with LDH admitted to Nanchang Hongdu Hospital of TCM from March 2021 to March 2023 were selected as the study objects,and were divided into control group(30 cases)and treatment group(30 cases)according to random number table method.The control group received routine treatment,and based on this,the treatment group was treated with Wechsler manipulation combined with silver needle for 4 weeks.The clinical efficacy of the two groups was compared,the degree of lower back and leg pain[visual analogue scale(VAS)],lumbar spine function[Japanese orthopedic association assessment(JOA)score,Oswestry disability index(ODI)]between the two groups before and after treatment were compared.Results The total effective rate of the observation group after treatment was higher than that of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P＜0.05).After treatment,the JOA score of the ob-servation group was higher than that of the control group,and the VAS and ODI scores were lower than those of the control group,with statistical significances(P＜0.05).Conclusion The combination of Wechsler maneuver and silver needle thera-py can improve the therapeutic effect of LDH,reduce the degree of lower back and leg pain in patients,and improve lumbar function.
