Survey and reflection on teaching in primary medical institutions within a medical group
Objective Through investigating and studying the teaching status of grassroots hospitals within Guangzhou Huadu District People's Hospital Medical Group(hereinafter referred to as the"Group"),this study aims to provide a basis for improving support to grassroots hospitals through teaching.Methods From April 2022 to May 2022,a cross-sectional survey on teaching situations was conducted among 516 medical staff from 9 grassroots medical institutions within the Group using electronic questionnaires.A total of 485 valid responses were obtained,and the results of the questionnaire survey were analyzed using the method of induction and summarization as well as chi-square test.Results 98.76%of the respon-dents recognized the concept of"learning through teaching",and 89.90%believed that conducting teaching and training had a significant impact on personal development.87.42%of the respondents were willing to engage in teaching work.In terms of the teaching management system in grassroots hospitals,only 20.62%of the personnel had teaching experience,and the highest proportion of those who had participated in various teaching training was 30.10%.96.7%of the respondents believed that theoretical training still needed to be conducted,and 96.49%believed that practical training was still necessary.The top three choices for teaching methods were"prob-lem-oriented approach""case-based teaching method"and"lecture-based teaching method"with proportions of 73.58%,64.53%,and 54.23%respectively.71.34%of the respondents believed that the most prominent problem in grassroots teaching was the lack of teaching conditions.There was no statistically significant difference between the various survey indicators when comparing those with teaching experience and those without(P>0.05).Conclusion Basic hospitals have a certain teaching foundation,and the medical staff have a higher cognition level of teaching work and a strong willingness to teach,but the teaching conditions,teachers'ability and teaching level are obviously insufficient.Coordinating teaching resources within the medical group and providing clinical teaching support have clear practical significance.
