Objective To explore the effect of process reengineering of information closed-loop management of operating room reusable instruments. Methods A total of 6 000 surgical instrument sets received by the disinfection supply room of Guangzhou Women and Children's Medical Center during the routine management period from January to June 2021 were selected as the control group.Another 6 000 surgical instrument kits received by the disinfection supply room during the implementation of retrospective closed-loop management in Guangzhou Women's and Children's Medical Center from July to December 2021 were selected as the observation group. The disinfection supply traceability system was used to implement closed-loop management of the operating room reuse instruments from the initial purchase, identity confirmation to use,re-cycling,cleaning,packaging,sterilization,distribution,receipt and other links, and the use of barcode and personal digital assistant(PDA)technology is tracked throughout the process. The situation of kit deficiency and the satisfaction of medical staff were compared between the two groups. Results The incidence of instrument kit deficiency in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The satisfaction scores of the operating room and disinfection supply room staff in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The continuous improvement and improvement of the process reengineering of the information closed-loop management of reusable instruments in the operating room can re-duce the incidence of instrument kit deficiency, thus improving the staffs satisfaction with management.
