Analysis of the current status of stigma levels in patients with depression and its related influencing factors
Objective To explore the status of stigma levels in patients with depression and its related influencing factors.Methods A total of 136 patients with depression who were admitted to the Third People's Hospital of Ganzhou from Febru-ary 2020 to December 2021 were selected by convenience sampling method.Multiple linear regression was used to analyze the status quo of stigma level and related influencing factors of depression patients.Results The total stigma score of pa-tients with depression was(68.05±9.67)points,including ability factor(18.02±1.66)points,social factor(25.42±2.51)points,and treatment factor(13.59±1.48)points.Univariate analysis showed that there were statistically significant differ-ences in the levels of stigma among patients with depression of different disease courses,education levels,family per capita monthly income,residential situation and social support(P<0.05).And there were no statistical differences in the levels of stigma among patients with depression of different ages,occupations,sex,and marital status(P>0.05).Multiple linear re-gression analysis showed that disease courses ≥ 5 years(β=0.373,t=5.441,95%CI=3.324-1.517)and living alone(β=0.324,t=3.578,95%CI=5.325-18.904)were risk factors that affected the level of stigma among patients with depression(P<0.05).Educational level of college or above(β=-0.211,t=-2.210,95%CI=-0.280 to-0.053),family per capita monthly income ≥3 000 yuan(β=-0.412,t=-2.385,95%CI=-5.294 to-0.942)and medium-to-high level of social sup-port(β=-1.318,t=-2.769,95%CI=-2.462 to-1.104)were protective factors of stigma among patients with depression(P<0.05).Conclusion Depressed patients have a high level of stigma,which is influenced by the course of disease,educa-tion level,family per capita monthly income,residential situation and social support.
