Application of failure mode and effect analysis in optimizing nosocomial infection knowledge training
Objective To explore the application and effect of failure mode and effect analysis(FMEA)in optimizing noso-comial infection knowledge training. Methods The risk value of nosocomial infection events and the examination results of nosocomial infection knowledge of medical staff in Ganzhou People's Hospital were analyzed before implementation of opti-mization training(January to December 2021)and after implementation(January to December 2022).The control group was set up before implementation, and the experimental group was set up after implementation.Risk priority number(RPN)val-ue,hazard specific relative risk(RISK)value and hospital infection knowledge assessment scores of the two groups were compared. Results The RPN values of experimental group were lower than those of control group, the differences were sta-tistically significant(P<0.05).Compared with the control group, the RISK values of all risk events in experimental group were decreased. The theoretical knowledge and test scores of the test group were higher than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Applying FMEA model to nosocomial infection knowl-edge training and implementing improvement plan can optimize the training effect and improve the overall level of nosoco-mial infection management.
