Analysis of pregnancy complications and adverse pregnancy outcomes in elderly parturients
Objective To investigate the pregnancy complications and adverse pregnancy outcomes in elderly parturients. Methods A total of 507 elderly parturients who gave birth in the Department of Obstetrics,Chaohu Hospital Affiliated to Anhui Medical University from January 2021 to December 2022 were selected as the research objects,of which 52 elderly primipara were grouped into elderly primipara group and 455 elderly multipara were grouped into elderly multipara group. And 507 women of appropriate age were randomly selected according to the discharge date.Among them,357 age-appropriate primipara and 150 age-appropriate multipara were divided into age-appropriate primipara group and age-appropriate mul-tipara group, respectively. The differences of pregnancy complications and adverse pregnancy outcomes among the four groups were compared. Results The results of univariate analysis showed that placenta previa, gestational diabetes mellitus, cesarean section, preterm delivery and premature rupture of membranes were related to the elderly primipara, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Multivariate analysis results of logistic regression model showed that ges-tational diabetes mellitus(β=1.584,OR=4.875,95%CI=1.765-13.462)was an independent risk factor for elderly primi-para.Cesarean section(β=0.444,OR=1.559,95%CI=1.033-2.352),premature rupture of membranes(β=2.234,OR=9.333,95%CI=2.393-36.398)were independent risk factors for elderly multipara. Conclusion We should actively deal with various pregnancy complications and adverse pregnancy outcomes, pay more attention to elderly parturients, and effectively protect the physical and mental health of mother and child.
