Effect of tongue tip drip with 24%sucrose water combined with white noise on reducing operational pain response in screening for retinopathy of prematurity
Objective To observe the effect of tongue tip drip with 24%sucrose water combined with white noise on reduc-ing operational pain response in screening for retinopathy of prematurity(ROP).Methods A total of 80 children admitted to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of Ganzhou People's Hospital in Jiangxi Province from June 2021 to June 2022 who under-went ROP screening for the first time were selected as research objects,and they were divided into control group(20 cases),intervention group 1(20 cases),intervention group 2(20 cases)and intervention group 3(20 cases)according to random number table method.The control group was given routine postural appeasement and non-nutritional sucking.On the basis of the control group,the intervention group 1 was given a small amount of 24%sucrose water on the tip of the tongue,the in-tervention group 2 was given white noise,and the intervention group 3 was given tongue tip drip with 24%sucrose water combined with white noise.The degree of pain relief and abnormal improvement of physical signs among all groups were compared.Results At 3 min before screening,there were no significant differences in the total score of premature infant pain profile-reformulate(PIPP-R),heart rate(HR),respiratory rate(RR)and percutaneous oxygen saturation(SpO2)levels among the four groups(P>0.05).At 1 min after screening,the total scores of PIPP-R,HR,RR in the four groups were higher than those at the first 3 min before screening,and the levels of SpO2 were lower than those at the first 3 min before screening,with statistical significances(P<0.05).At 5 min after the end of screening,the total scores of PIPP-R,HR,RR in the four groups were lower than those at 1 min after the end of screening,and the levels of SpO2 was higher than those at 1 min after the end of screening,and the total score of PIPP-R,HR and RR in the intervention group 3 were lower than those in intervention group 1,2 and control group 5 min after the end of screen-ing,the level of SpO2 was higher than that of intervention group 1,2 and control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The application of 24%sucrose water combined with white noise in the screening of ROP has a good effect,which can improve the heart rate and respiratory rate of children,reduce crying,soothe their emotional and behavioral performance,and also help to improve the satisfaction of family members of children with medical care.
