Objective To explore the effect of individualized medical nutrition guidance education model on weight gain and pregnancy complications in primiparas during pregnancy. Methods A total of 106 cases of single pregnancy primiparas ad-mitted to Xiamen Maternal and Child Health Care Hospital from July 2020 to July 2021 were retrospectively selected as the study objects, and they were divided into control group(53 cases)and observation group(53 cases)according to different nursing plans during pregnancy. The control group received routine health education during pregnancy, and the observation group received individualized medical nutrition guidance education.Pregnancy and prenatal body mass index(BMI),preg-nancy weight gain, hemoglobin level and pregnancy outcome were compared between the two groups. Results There was no significant difference in prenatal BMI between the two groups(P>0.05).The prenatal BMI of the observation group was lower than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The pregnancy weight gain of the observation group was better than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).There were significant differences in hemoglobin level time, intergroup and interaction between the two groups in the first, second and third trimesters(P<0.05).The incidences of gestational hypertension, gestational diabetes, low birth weight and macrosomia in observation group were lower than those in control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Individualized medical nutrition guidance education model can effectively control the weight gain of primipara during pregnancy, avoid the decrease of hemoglobin level during pregnancy, and play a positive role in reducing the occurrence of pregnancy complications and improving the pregnancy outcome.
