Objective To evaluate the effect of acupoint application combined with Wumei Pills concoction on clinical effi-cacy,immune function,faecal calprotectin(FC)and blood routine in patients with ulcerative colitis mixed with cold and heat type.Methods A total of 60 patients with ulcerative colitis mixed with cold and heat type admitted to Xuzhou City Hospital of TCM from January 2019 to January 2021 were selected as the research objects.According to the order of treatment,they were divided into control group and observation group,with 30 cases in each group.The control group took Wumei Pills concoction,and the observation group combined acupoint application on the basis of the control group.The clinical efficacy,activity index score of ulcerative colitis,peripheral blood T lymphocyte subsets(CD3+,CD4+,CD8+,CD4+/CD8+)levels,FC and complete blood count were compared between the two groups.Results After treatment,the clinical effective rate,CD3+,CD4+,CD4+/CD8+of the two groups were higher than those before treatment,and those of the observation group were higher than those of the control group,the differences were statistically significant(P＜0.05).The Sutherland disease activity index score,CD8+level and FC of the two groups after treatment were lower than those before treatment,and those of the observa-tion group after treatment were lower than those of the control group,the differences were statistically significant(P＜0.05).There were no significant difference in the count of white blood cell(WBC),red blood cell(RBC)and hemoglobin(Hb)be-tween two groups before and after treatment(P＞0.05).Conclusion Acupoint application combined with Wumei Pills con-coction is safe and effective.It can improve clinical symptoms,reduce inflammation and enhance immune function for pa-tients with ulcerative colitis mixed with cold and heat type who cannot tolerate salicylic acid preparation.
