Saposhnikovia divaricata was first recorded in Shennong Bencao Jing.Ancient books and famous doctors of various dynasties praise the main effect of Saposhnikovia divaricata,which has a therapeutic effect on joint pain,headache,rheumatic pain caused by wind-cold.Li Shizhen wrote"its ability to heal wind is the most important,hence its name",to explain the origin of its name.The processing has a long history and there are many processing methods.In addition to stir frying,charcoal making and honey frying,the processing methods of Saposhnikovia divaricata are described in the herbal literature of previous dynasties,inc luding wine stir frying,bran stir frying,boiling and so on.According to the comprehennsive review and sorting of ancient and modern documents,the author summarized the ancient processing methods of Saposhnikovia divaricata and its modern technology.The study of processing methods of Saposhnikovia divari-cata can provide foundations for the development and utilization of Saposhnikovia divaricata.
