Effect of social support and general self-efficacy on social participation of bladder cancer patients undergoing urinary diversion through abdominal wall stoma
Objective To explore the effects of social support and general self-efficacy on social participation in bladder cancer patients undergoing urinary diversion through abdominal wall stoma,and to verify the mediating effects of general self-efficacy on social support and social participation.Methods A total of 145 bladder cancer patients undergoing urinary diversion through abdominal wall stoma and discharged 6 months after surgery from the Department of Urology of the Second Hospital of Dalian Medical University,the First Affiliated Hospital of Dalian Medical University and Dalian Municipal Cen-tral Hospital from November 2019 to December 2020 were selected as the research objects.Social support rating scale,gen-eral self-efficacy scale,social dysfunction screening list and general situation questionnaire were used to investigate the ef-fects of social support and general self-efficacy on social participation in bladder cancer patients undergoing urinary diver-sion through abdominal wall stoma.Results The total scores of social participation,social support and general self-efficacy were(5.98±4.12),(31.10±5.43)and(2.24±0.64)points in patients with bladder cancer.Correlation analysis showed that the total score of social participation,total score of social support and general self-efficacy were negatively correlated(P<0.001).Regression analysis showed that the total score of social support and general self-efficacy were the influencing fac-tors of social participation score(P<0.01).Pathway analysis showed that general self-efficacy had partial mediating effect between social support and social participation in bladder cancer patients undergoing urinary diversion through abdominal wall stoma,and the mediating effect accounted for 50.088%of the total effect.Conclusion Both social support and general self-efficacy can significantly affect social participation in bladder cancer patients undergoing urinary diversion through ab-dominal wall stoma.General self-efficacy has partial mediating role in the influence of social support on social participation.
