Objective To explore the clinical effect of iRoot SP single-tip filling technique for root canal retreatment.Methods A total of 96 patients who underwent root canal retreatment in Changsha Stomatological Hospital from February 2021 to January 2022 were selected as the research objects.According to random number table method,they were divided into study group(n=48)and reference group(n=48).The study group was filled with iRoot SP single-tip,and the reference group was filled with AH-Plus hot gutta-percha vertical compression method.The effect of root canal filling,single root canal filling time,pain degree,curative effect and masticatory function were compared between the two groups.Results There was no significant difference in the effect of root canal filling between the two groups(P＞0.05).The filling time of single root canal in the study group was(58.88±5.21)s,which was shorter than(92.35±7.24)s in the reference group,and the difference was statistically significant(P＜0.05).The visual analogue scale(VAS)scores of the study group were(4.28±0.79)points and(2.97±0.35)points,both lower than(6.54±2.02)points and(3.87±1.21)points of the reference group,and the differences were statistically significant(P＜0.05).There were no significant differences in the efficacy and total effective rate between the two groups(P＞0.05).After operation,the masticatory efficiency and bite force of the two groups were high-er than those before operation,and the masticatory efficiency and bite force of the study group were higher than those of the reference group,and the differences were statistically significant(P＜0.05).Conclusion The application of iRoot SP sin-gle-tip filling technique in root canal retreatment can ensure the curative effect,shorten the filling time,relieve the pain of patients,and improve the masticatory function,which is worthy of clinical application.
