Objective To explore the effect of continuous nursing combined with peer education on elderly patients with hy-pertension.Methods A total of 70 elderly patients with hypertension admitted to the General Hospital of Pingxiang Mining Group Co.,Ltd.from January 2021 to December 2022 were selected and divided into control group and observation group by random number table method,with 35 cases in each group.The control group was given continuous nursing,and the obser-vation group was given peer education on the basis of continuous nursing.Both groups were observed for 4 weeks.The mas-tery of disease knowledge,self-care ability and quality of life were compared between the two groups.Results After nursing,the scores of disease cause,disease symptoms,drug treatment and daily care in the disease knowledge mastery of the obser-vation group were higher than those of the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After nursing,the scores of self-responsibility,self-care skills,health knowledge and self-care concept in the exercise of self-care agency scale(ESCA)of the observation group were higher than those of the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After nursing,the scores of physical function,emotional function,cognitive function,role function and social function in the quality of life questionnaire(QLQ-C30)of the observation group were higher than those of the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Continuous nursing combined with peer education can improve the old patients with hypertension mastery of disease knowledge,further enhance the pa-tients'self-care ability,improve the quality of life of the patients.
